ANGIE BROOKS

RMT, Craniosacral Therapist, Certified Vibroacoustic Therapist, Neurofeedback Technician

Angie graduated from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic in June of 2001 after completing her diploma program at this highly regarded school for massage therapy. Upon graduating she returned to Cobourg, where she was born and raised, to join Anita Clarke and Sharon Black at The Colourful Turtle’s Healing Centre, now known as The Healing Centre. Over the past years, Angie has taken many ongoing education courses but has found her passion in being able to successfully treat her clients with Craniosacral Therapy. Since 2003 after taking her first courses in CST, Angie has worked with all ages of people, from infants to the elderly to correct imbalances, tension and pain.

When not doing craniosacral therapy, Angie is also known for her rehabilitative abilities with deep tissue massage therapy. This is another area where Angie aspires to achieve great results with her treatments. The combination of these 2 therapies allows Angie to treat many kinds of dysfunction and pain and they also allow her clients to successfully maintain the results that they achieve.

CARA AUBIN

RMT

Cara is a Registered Massage Therapist who is taking active steps toward becoming a Trauma Informed Therapist.  She graduated with honors from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy in 2016 and has had a deep desire to expand herself in the fields of how trauma affects the human body and how healing can be achieved.

“Utilizing a trauma-informed approach does not necessarily require disclosure of trauma. Rather, services are provided in ways that recognize the need for physical and emotional safety, as well as choice and control in decisions affecting one’s treatment.” -TIP Guide.

A trauma-informed approach encourages trust, safety, clear communication and collaboration and reduces the chances of unintentionally causing additional trauma or harm.

Cara’s knowledge of Myofascial, Swedish and Deep Tissue techniques allows for a therapeutic yet deeply relaxing treatment that helps reduce the sympathetic nervous system (fight, flight, freeze response) and allows for a greater sense of grounding and calmness inside the mind and body. Cara is dedicated to bringing whole-body wellness to each client in her care.

Second to being trauma-informed Cara has a passion for prenatal massage. The magic of growing a tiny human is incredible but sometimes the body needs a little extra love to help support the rapid changes it goes through during pregnancy. Prenatal massage can help reduce stress hormones, decrease anxiety symptoms, improve sleep, and reduce back, hip and leg discomfort. With the aid of an amazing pregnancy pillow that allows clients to lie safely on their bellies, Cara loves being able to provide relief and comfort to those who are carrying our most precious cargo.

Cara is excited to further expand her education and knowledge in the fields of trauma, pregnancy and one day pediatric/infant massage.

CARLY REINKELUERS

Registered Psychotherapist

Carly is a Registered Psychotherapist and Board Certified Neurofeedback practitioner with the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. She holds an honours degree in Psychology, a Bachelor of Education degree and a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. She works as both a clinician and consultant with clinics offering Neurofeedback services.

Carly’s belief in the relationship between the mind, body, and brain means that she meets clients from a holistic perspective and supports them as their nervous systems learn new and healthier functioning patterns. In today’s fast-paced and unpredictable world, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and “stuck” in patterns of thinking and behaving that hinder healthy growth and development. It is not surprising that people are feeling more mentally and physically burnt out and unsure how to move forward. Carly believes that every individual has strengths and successes, struggles and setbacks and goals and aspirations. Through empathetic and compassionate understanding, Carly uses Neurofeedback to help clients learn more about themselves and feel a greater balance in their lives.

REBECCA BARRAS

Registered Psychotherapist

Hi, I’m Rebecca! I’ve been working as a Registered Psychotherapist for several years now and have found a lot of value in applying a nervous system approach to health and wellness. I like to work with the brain, using skills and techniques (including neurofeedback) to help clients accomplish and maintain their goals. I’ve found this to be successful in several circumstances, such as trauma, attention, memory, and mood. When I’m not working, you can probably find me hiking with my 3-year-old Australian Shepard, curled up on the couch with a book, or baking delicious cookies and sweets.
